Well, we have good evidence of Jews in Kiev as early as late 10th
century.

Well, anyway I'm positively sure the Khazaria Jews didn't play a
significant role in Ashkenazi ethnogenesis... One reason is because
there probably weren't too many people of Jewish faith among the
Khazarian lower classes.
