Yay! You noticed! =20 Depends on the dialect5, actually. In the standard, formal dialect (spoken by almost nobody but understood by everyone, just like standard English), it's /x/. In most other dialects, it's /h/, and it some, it turns into a glotal stop -- a very light one, and silent at the beginnings of words.
