There's different opinions on this. I once sent a local sexologist into a
fit of rage by stating that I considered the assertation "About 10% of
people are genetically homosexual" to be "not proven".

Obviously, a gene for homosexuality would be in trouble. This is, as I see
it, strong evidence that homosexuality is to some extent caused or activated
by cultural factors.
