Uh-oh. They sort of _look like_ large bipedal panthers, but that doesn't
necessarily mean they are......? Interesting question: when/if we
encounter other intelligent species, what Latin names will we give them?
Assuming (pace Le Guin) they are essentially human in form, would we have
e.g. Homo sapiens Hainensis, or H.s. Gethenensis? Perhaps the Kash could be
Feloidis sapiens Kash Cinduensis? (Biological taxonomy is not my strong
point.)
I'm allergic to cats, too, but have four anyway. It pays for my allergist's
vacations.

They would be amazed (and maybe secretly repulsed) by our pinkish, furless
bodies, but otherwise, no problem. Exchange of technologies and knowledge
would be paramount; introduction of alien species (via seeds, clonable DNA)
would require a lot of research.
