I think I am. I joined when I was in eighth grade, but now I'm a freshman. ----- Original Message ----- From: James Landau To: CONLANG@listserv.brown.edu Sent: Wednesday, December 18, 2002 6:31 PM Subject: Re: Introduction; need advice In a message dated 12/17/2002 7:24:09 PM Pacific Standard Time, funkymonkey1148@PRODIGY.NET writes: Hey Cool! I thought I was the only high schooler on the list (and an admitted lurker). I'm also a junior and also in NC. I just observe mostly because I lack the extensive (or apparently extensive) linguistic background of many of the participants of this list. I've had a number of languages...probably over a dozen, though only a few I've worked on extensively. I thought I had to be the youngest person in the conlang directory's Net at the time (Kankonian was officially declared "has been invented" in 1997). I spoke with David Dynes, creator of Merdian/Sulekhï, over the mail; he turned out to still be in high school too. Maybe David Dynes is still around and active on the Net, if not an actual member of this list. Well, I guess I'm certainly not the youngest person in the online conlanging community anymore.
