    IINM, "hoja" is probably < Arabic.  In Indonesian, a "hoja" is sort of
the care-taker of a mosque; originally probably a more lofty meaning.  One of
the Arabo-Iranian words we have learned in recent years is _hojatulislam_
(servant of Islam??), a clerical rank somewhere below an ayatullah.
