Actually, in Madagascar, IIRC the roles are the reverse of the stereotypes
that we in the West assign to the sexes, respectively: women are the
aggressive, assertive gender, and are the ones who always go to market
and are the public face of their families. I don't know for sure if
this is reflected grammatically in Malagasy, but I'm sure Matt (if he's
still on the list) could tell us.
