Well, we're there, and to my mind, fairly amazing considering that US, UK,
and Australian culture gives no real support to same-sex couples.

Same sex marriage isn't legal in California. Was this a religious ceremony?
Those have been performed for a couple of decades by enlightened clergy,
though unlike straight ceremonies, they don't carry the immediate legal
recognition. I, myself, was handfasted (Pagan equivalent o marriAGE) to my
soul-mate in 1987 and to my current partner in 1999.

I suspect you've not know any men who told you they were bi. I remember one
acquaintahce of mine saying he'd never met an f-to-m transexual, unaware
that my bearded friend seated at the same table was.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans is a big event, attended by people of all
lifestyles, but it is certain also a straight event. It is not the least bit
uncommon to see bare-chested straight women there waggling their breasts
like waterwings (public exposure of female breasts is largely illegal in the
USA).
