Yes and no. I translated my version directly from your version, but I also
recall you writing that Oldvak doesn't have gender-neutral words. Well, Wenedyk
has those, and what's more, it would use the gender-specific words only in
situation when the gender of the beast matters to the context, which is
certainly not the case in this text.
BTW Afterwards I modified my transation a bit following the regular version of
