In ancient times, aliens from other worlds visited Earth, and travel back
and forth was possible. Some of these aliens entered human mythology and
became the Egyptian gods and such. Some humans went with the aliens to
settle other solar systems. The really hard thing to justify is =
non-humans
speaking with human phonemes! The rationale I used to have is that all
language is based on Elvish models, which means that even humans were
engineered to be able to speak. Whether or not this works in the new
history of Kolagia, which I haven't finalized yet, is something I haven't
decided. Of course, then I'd have to extrapolate star positions at least
50,000 years into the past, which would totally change the geometry.
