OK I realized that afterwards. _gazelle/oryx creature_ = aras = arasse is quite OK.

Nevertheless it's not IMHO correct. There is an adjective _riina_ from Common Eldarin *ri3naa 'crowned', but there is clearly a word _rion_ < *ri3ond 'crowned man', which I think would be more appropriate here, even though it has the secondary(?) meaning 'prince'. So the whole should be _Arasserion_ (stressed on the _e_, and still with the oblique stem _Arasseriond-_). The resultant meaning 'antlered man' is quite cool -- makes me think of that Celtic god Cernunnos! BTW _rion_ has its feminine counterpart _rien_ (_riend-_) 'crowned woman', which would thus translate Stephanie. /BP 8^)> -- B.Philip Jonsson mailto:bpX@netg.se (delete X) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~__ A h-ammen ledin i phith! \ \ __ ____ ____ _____________ ____ __ __ __ / / \ \/___ \\__ \ /___ _____/\ \\__ \\ \ \ \\ \ / / / / / / / \ / /Melroch\ \_/ // / / // / / / / /___/ /_ / /\ \ / /Melarokko\_ // /__/ // /__/ / /_________//_/ \_\/ /Eowine __ / / \___/\_\\___/\_\ Gwaedhvenn Angeliniel\ \______/ /a/ /_h-adar Merthol naun ~~~~~~~~~Kuinondil~~~\________/~~\__/~~~Noolendur~~~~~~ || Lenda lenda pellalenda pellatellenda kuivie aiya! || "A coincidence, as we say in Middle-Earth" (JRR Tolkien)
