Frankly, it also depends on who is speaking the language: to me,
English sounds beautiful out of the mouth of Tom Stoppard but not
out of the mouths of others. Same is true of French, Pashto or any
other language. I say Pashto because I think Pashto is a very
lovely language when spoken by certain presenters on VOA's Pashto
service, but there's one presenter who makes it sound rather
schlocky. (I use VOA's multilingual broadcasts on the internet when
I want inspiration for phonology)
