With reference to Fanshaw and Beaulieu - Yes, they are pronounced like that:
but I think you'll find that "Beaulieu" is also a 'snob spelling' of the
placename meaning 'clearing where bees were kept' or something similar in
OE, say 'beo-laeg' (not sure how to reproduce ae-ligature-plus-macron!). In
fact, I had a friend - our local vicar - whose surname was spelt Bewley,
pretty close to the OE version.
