They're actually Australian, which contributes to their being illegal as pets here, I imagine (though you can have native snakes, for example ... reptilism? :) ). Take a look at <http://www.skinhorse.net/gliders/> for information about keeping them as pets (or that's what it seems like... I haven't look at it thoroughly).
