Well, Santa Claus is still a bit alien here in Ukraine, but seen by many as a
part of "progressive", "democratic" (see my earlier comments on "dermocracy")
Western Culture. My friends in US often call the guy "Satan Claus". And here in
Soviet times there was a _Ded Moroz_ (Grandfather Frost) with the same
functions. Now the nationalist want _Svjatyj Mykolaj_ (St. Nicolas) back, to
spoil little kids minds, and in many schools he's back. Argggh, I didn't let my
boy to go to the kindergarden on December 19 when they had this kind of party.
Call me fanatic.
But the kid gets his sweets 'n presents on Chanuka, and Purim, and whensoever.
