Sorry for advocating my page again, but it fits this posting as
it does list the differences between X-Sampa and CXS. It is really
a page for both mappings. It is here:

You're very right that CXS and X-Sampa are almost the same. A rather
recent adding seems to be the use of ) for an alternative linking
mark additional to _ . It has no Unicode equivalent, since Unicode
does not know suffixed diacritics. _ is translatable to Unicode,
but ) is not.
