Kindly not "ot" or "aut" for "ought". Both are ugly. Especially since it's
so rare as a standalone, just respell the whole construct: "otta".
I agree that "eit" is too ambiguous. just make it '8' ;)
Also, I thought there was a difference between "alright" and "all right", one
being an expletive ("all right, we'll do it your way") and the other an
adjective ("are you alright?" "he's an alright kind of guy".) (of course
according to thou it should be 'alrite' anyway ;)

I feel weird about respelling that, as they seem to be different inflections
of the same word.

I'd advise against it ;) I don't have the book on hand to check but I believe
it's a quote from Richard Lederer's book _Crazy English_.
