I know. But bearing in mind principles of opportunity cost, not to mention
a term they told us in poli sci (barriers to entry -- though admittedly that
was in the context of explaining things like CPA exams, 1000 hours of
cosmetology school to become a hair braider, and having to go through a
dozen extra hoops to be recognized before the Supreme Court), and a hearty
"well I bet you could explain it to me, or give me a glossary in the help
file" from those of us who don't have 20 years to spend on a career other
than the one we're already trying to manage... not to mention the fact that
I can understand how a computer operates and still not know what you mean by
"error 462."
And anyway, I still want a glossary of linguistic terms that doesn't require
me to already know dozens of OTHER linguistic terms just to get the one I
needed to look up.

Waiting for the day when lawyers will stop ruining all our fun, since 1980.
