At a glance, I would suppose that Dutch shows more resistance to putting
the object before the subject, perhaps because of the deeper erosion of
inflection in nouns.
But then, it would be interesting to compare (East) Scandinavian langs
(Danish, Swedish); IIRC they allow a lot of inversions of that kind,
having no Acc/Nom oposition either. (But some examples in the books
I read could be dated).
