Uh oh, now you've done it. You've got me wondering what my "Russian" name would be :). My name of course is Barry Garcia (/bEri garsi@/. Dad's name is Bernard :) (of course if you dont want to do it' it's fine with me :) ) Anyway, interesting system there. Tagalog is not very inventive with foreign names, they just take your name, and keep it as it is (which is why you see names like Flores, which are spoken as /plores/). My grandmother calls me /bari/. Of course how it's pronounced by Filipinos is a different story (Vasiliy would probably be said like /basili/ by a Filipino). The Filipino naming system is first - middle - last. Your middle name is your mothers maiden name (though, i'm not sure if it's only for the first child). This makes for easy tracking of who you are related to. My dad's name is Bernard Delfin Garcia. My Grandmother's maiden name was Delfin. My Grandfathers name was Bernard Santa Maria Garcia. ________________________________________________ It's worth the risk of burning, to have a second chance...
