Ah, but you remember what happened when Semele demanded that Zeus reveal his
glory to her?
His power burned her up in a flash of his glory. And you get the same concept
in the story of Moses asking to see God's face, and being denied because he
would not be able to withstand God's glory ...
As far as it goes, I suppose my view of spirits, considering that I don't
actually believe in a spirit world as such, is that they are a lot closer to
"primal" energy than humans, who get it through a whole heap of
intermediaries such as the sun and its nuclear reactions, the plants and
their photosynthesis, and animals and their digestive systems, and lastly,
our own digestion. Eg, disincarnate spirits cause a drop in temperature
because they drain energy from the ambient matter.
I suppose that's why I've never considered myself a worthy possibility for
neo-Paganism.
I'm too much a skeptic.

Mau e ki, "He aha te mea nui?"
You ask, "What is the most important thing?"
Maku e ki, "He tangata, he tangata, he tangata."
I reply, "It is people, it is people, it is people."
