First written evidence of Romanian and Moldavian languages we find in a letter
by boier Neacşu sent from Câmpulung to Braşov dated by year 1521, telling about
Turkish troops moving along Danube. The whole letter is written in Cyrillics.
Here is an extract from this letter:
"И пак дау щире домніетале за лукрул
турчилор, кум амь аузит еу к� ѫмп� ратул ау
ешит ден Софіѧ ши аиминтрѣ ну е ши сѣу дус ѫсус
пре Дун� ре. И пак с� щіи
домніята к� ау венит ун ѡм де ла Никопое де міе мѣу
спус к� ау в� зут ку ѡкіи лои
к� ау трекут чѣле корабіи че щіи ши домніята
пре Дун� ре ѫсус. И пак с� щіи к�
баг� ден тоте ѡрашеле к� те 50 де ѡмин с� фіе ѫн
ажутор ѫ корабіи."
