It seems from one or two replies that it's not just you, but ... or do we all seem to be the types of people that either:

No, not all of us can be fitted into one of the two categories.

I used to churn out quite a number of conlangs (mostly auxlangs) in my teens, but I think they lasted more than a couple of days - a few months at least. Nor was it boredom that prompted a change, but new ideas - often prompted by whatever natlang I had most recently come across :) You may well be right, I guess, about conworlders being carried away with their projects. I did sometime in my mid teens populate Venus with people speaking a vaguely Hungarian/Turkish inspired conlang - but never developed it and have never got into 'conworlding' ever since. I don't think engelaners quite fit either of the two categories above. Certainly my 'briefscript' project has gone on for a very long time, but I have not got carried away with it. Indeed, had I been so carried away, it would probably be more advanced than, alas, it is. Obviously I haven't dropped it after a couple of days ;) -- Ray ================================== ray@carolandray.plus.com http://www.carolandray.plus.com ================================== "A mind which thinks at its own expense will always interfere with language."
