follower"
algebra <-- al jebra "the resetting", "the combination"
algorism/ algorithm <-- 'al Khwa:razmi "the man from Khwa:razm" (i.e. 9th
cent. mathematician Abu Ja'far Mohammed ben Musa)
alkali <-- al qali:y "the calcined ash"
