Well, [Ev] isn't exactly the only pronunciation of |eu| you'll hear in Sweden - it varies from speaker to speaker and word to word. I'm going to cringe majorly if he says "Evropa" for instance! The element _eur(o)-_ is particularly werid; in my 'lect, which I think is quite typical on this point, you get [e;'ru:pa], ['EvrU] and [e;}'rA:si;En]. And I still wish they'd kept calling the common currency "écu". The variation in the pronunciation of "Euro" across the EU's languages is rather annoying if you ask me. Altho' I have to say that _Teuro_ is a wonderful word. Andreas
