I picked up a couple of interesting books yesterday.

one is Synopsis de la phonetique historique or somesuch, describes the
evolution of sounds from the Vulgate to modern French, quite interesting.

The other is Etude sur la vocalisation de la consonne `l` dans les langues
romanes. it is from the 1920`s or thereabouts and is also quite
interesting.

These two have sparked an interest in the subject of Romance
languages. Does anyone know of a source describing the sound changes of
Romanian? I`m curious of such evolutions as direct- > drept and what the
system is behind it.

also, if someone has someone has some knowledge of Lithuanian, can they
confirm that `ir visa tai kas yra graz^u ira graz^u` (haceks on the
z) means `and everything that is beautiful is beautiful`?
