"padme" is good Sanskrit for "lotus". In the Star Wars cycle, it undoubtedly derives from "The Good Ship Lollipop", or some other mythical beast. <:) It also occurs as a character name in Salman Rushdie's "Children of Midnight" - if I've remembered the names correctly. Wesley Parish
