I could do a reasonable translation of the piece-names in Meghean: king _corth_ ("king") or maybe better _can_ ("lord") queen _cea_ ("lady") bishop _mirear_ ("scholar") knight _borbho_ ("hunter" - can't be any knights in the absence of stirrups) rook _creach_ ("castle") pawn _catear_ ("allegiant", or more freely "militiaman") However, realistically, as far as that world applies to magical conworlds, the game should not be known in that world. Some similar game would seem entirely in character for the nobility of the Camant, however; maybe one day I'll write up the rules. Andreas
