Tho our bombings were small fry compared to 9/11. As the Mayor of London
pointed out, these acts of barbarism were not directed at Prime Ministers,
  Presidents or leaders of nations, but against innocent civilians. Those
who know London will know how multicultural and multi-ethnic London is.
The attacks was made quite irrespective of their victims' nationality,
religion, ethnicity or anything else.

Quite what the perpetrators hoped to achieve I do not begin to understand.
  On the website of the hitherto unknown group that is now claiming
responsibility, it talks about fear & panic being caused in London and the
south-east of England. That is all baloney.

I live in the south-east of England. There is no fear or panic where I am.
  Rather a closer sense of community and a determination to carry on.

Yep - I was six years old when it finished. London suffered far, far more
from the blitz than from yesterday's senseless & barbaric acts - and
Londoners came through the blitz.

I have noticed that people who habitually tell lies always assume other
people always lie. May be cowards who only attack soft targets assume
everyone else is a coward also. Well, they got that wrong.

Thanks. It was even more heartening to see all the leaders at the G8
summit yesterday issue a joint statement condemning those acts. The
civilized world as a whole is stronger when it stands together.
