I pulled this quote from the archives to thank Ray and everyone from Great
Britain who gave us Americans sympathy and support on September 11. I'm
saddened that it is now our turn to express our sorrow and great grief to
our British conlangers, due to the al Qaeda bombings in London today. I'm
saddened even more to know that the bombings today are in part due to
Britain's ready support and defense of America.
Ray brought up World War II -- my grandfather was a World War II veteran who
took part in D-Day. He lived and trained in England for the two years prior
to that and had the utmost love and respect for his hosts.
I myself had the good fortune to live in England during the first Gulf War
and observe first-hand British bravery, decency and steadfastness. I am
certain that Londoners will rally and respond.
Our two countries are far stronger together than apart, and I hope that we
in America will do more to strengthen and enhearten our most faithful friend.
Best wishes to all,
Jeffrey
