One could relex a huge-huge list of roots.
There are many lists available on the web.
Probably the weapon of choice would be a Perl script.
One could either try to preserve the list's spelling
or not, or some degree of each; lots of options.

The problem with most word lists is that they are too basic.
I have played a bit with the WordNet 99999 "synsets". Example:

1.  noun.cognition      example#1, illustration#3, instance#2, representative#4
2.  noun.cognition      model#7, example#2
3.  noun.cognition      exemplar#1, example#3, model#5, good example#1
4.  noun.communication  example#4, deterrent example#1, lesson#2, object lesson#1
5.  noun.event          case#2, instance#1, example#5
6.  noun.act            exercise#4, example#6

In most cases, a word ("example") has several slightly different
meanings (6), and each meaning can have several synonyms.
(I deleted the definitions and sample phrases from the above.)
From this set I can generate (relex) a new list of words.

Or, one can simply take a dictionary in any language(s),
find the desired term, and give it to a relexer program.
The output might depend on the source language(s),
and be remembered in a resulting relexed word-list.
Two ways to do all this: web page (CGI script), or a simple
program in C or Perl. I highly recommend Linux in any case,
to break Micro$oft's tangle of incompatibility.
Perl is best because it is easiest to make small changes.
The conlanger can have the tools to control his condestiny.
