In contrast, my Uatakassi doesn't distinguish "eat" from "drink". :-)
Tho, it does distinguish whether the consuming is done in a social
setting (lau) or alone (kafti). The term "social setting" normally
means "in the presence of others", but can also include eating or
drinking as part of a ritual done alone. For example, in the old rites
of passage, which involved a solitary period of several days in the
woods. Any eating or drinking done there, while alone, is still _lau_
