Liddell & Scott had "young pig, porker", which was good enough for me, especially since I wanted to use separate morphemes where possible. And Langenscheidt is more explicit with "Schwein; Ferkel" ("pig; piglet").

Oh, interesting. What _was_ the general word for "pig", then, if it wasn't χοῖρος? I thought that was the AG general term, sort of the AG equivalent of MG γουρούνι. Cheers, -- Philip Newton <philip.newton@...>
