Clam chowder is usually made with quahogs; as they are large and chewy,
they pretty much need to be chopped up before cooking.
ObJoke: The Maine-based folk group Schooner Fare (all praise to their
music!) do this wonderful comedy bit about coming to New York, ordering
[kl&@m"tS&uda] and being served something red. ["D&tsnOt"tS&uda],
one of them says; ["D&tsp@"gEti?3"sVm?m=].
