Ti deg ci ghoeruwu le, hyem yagen rimando taninando. rinya naeg in rym -um bes -enya language:ABS ford.ABS DEF water-INS time-DAT 'Language is a ford through the water of time' um mhyth-i ið -in in rawð -enya deich itir -enya 2PL:ABS lead -PRS 3SG-ERG DEF dwelling-DAT father:PL before-DAT 'It leads us to the fathers of before' ti deg ci ghoer-u -wu le but there NEG come -FUT-AP 3IMP:ABS 'But he will not come there' hyem yagen rim -ando tanin-ando REL:ABS afraid water-ABL deep -ABL 'who is afraid of deep water' AP = Antipassive REL = Relative particle 3IMP = 3p impersonal pronoun ABL = Ablative I use the antipassive in the third line to change the argument of 'come' into the absolutive, because 'come' usually takes an ergative subject, but 'afraid' has to have a head in the absolutive.
