Not to mention that it's still easier to pick something up from
printed paper than from the screen, and, as Paul Delagardie said,
to appear publicly in print is any mans dream...

Of course, there's a marked difference between developing something
together with a community, or thinking it out by yourself: other people
might not respect _your_ printed matter as you do ;-). I remember my
coming out (circa 1990) at University, when my Modern Chinese teacher
handed me a wad of printouts from some Loglan mailing list or a related
Usenet group. I wish I still had those! There was some stuff about
guaspi, too, I recollect.
