I have a somewhat similar experience. Cerainly, whenever I read or think the words to this I hear Laurie Anderson's distinctive voice and inflections in my head. I too like the collage, perhaps because it lacks the disjunction I always feel in style between the ding dong, and the "high seriousness" of the beginning. I think that the original is intended to show the airy nature of the spirit. So it works in the play, but not for me so much as a poem. -- David _________________________________________ David Durand dgd@cs.bu.edu \ david@dynamicDiagrams.com Boston University Computer Science \ Sr. Analyst http://www.cs.bu.edu/students/grads/dgd/ \ Dynamic Diagrams --------------------------------------------\ http://www.dynamicDiagrams.com/ MAPA: mapping for the WWW \__________________________
