Actually, it may not even be that--many of these "Monophysites" weren't
(and aren't) actually Monophysites. They and the Chalcedonians seem to
have been cross-talking at each other over some very technical
philosophical terms, and each side came to erroneous conclusions about
the other's beliefs. Gee! And they shared a common language, too! How
could THAT have happened?
