The linguistics program at U of Pitt is infact fairly good
(I'm a recent grad from there). Though they are really geared
to Applied Linguistics (Second Language Acquisition), and Native
American Languages. Not big on Comparative or Historical Linguistics.
(Though there is a Faculty member in the Anthropology dept. who does
Historical Linguistics)

Pitt does have a wide selection of languages, though. Through
various language departments and the Less-Commonly Taught Languages
Center. I was able to take a year of both Hungarian and Slovak, and
probably would have taken more If I didn't have to graduate. :)
