The title of Tolkien's essays was "A Secret Vice."
Indefinite article.

Yes. I'm deeply immersed in the revisions and press
decisions for our collection of essays on The Blair
Witch Project, so I don't know when I can get to it,
but I'd love to, and I thank you.
I have several new recipes, too, that I haven't
committed to Teonaht: a recipe for a cheese, turnip,
and eggplant layered casserole; a recipe for chard,
a recipe for rabbit stew, green and red sauce,
brown sauce, etc.
