No parentheses here. "-lle" can *only be pronounced [l] (this is not
Spanish :)) ). The "i" needs to be part of the polygraph to trigger the [j]
pronunciation. "Belle" can only be [bEl], not *[bEj].

The problem is that with this segmentation you wouldn't arrive to an [Ej]
pronunciation anyway, but to [El]. That's why I didn't understand where you
got that idea.
