A while back I mentioned I was having trouble interpreting the Du. based
spelling system (vintage 1900s) of a regional Indo. language source. It's
now up on my website--
http://cinduworld.tripod.com/kai_spelling.htm
(that's kai_spelling). Have I seriously misinterpreted the Dutch? What in
particular would the author have meant by "hiaat"?? Comments are requested
(privately might be better).
Also, others may want to take a look at the HTML source; it's my first
effort using the new computer, which seems to do strange things. A
Validator site found lots of oddities-- didn't like ‘ , ’ etc.
Also, it said the Unicode numbers were not recognized (though they display
for me....)-- is it because they're decimal, not hex? . Also, is it really
necessary to specify FONT all over the place?? etc. I really don't
understand, and would like to clean this up if I can, for future work. I
will appreciate comments, even vicious or scornful ones...
Thanks, Roger.
