I translate a variety of things; phrases from songs, Adventure (the ancient
computer game), or most recently, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Often, one of the first things I translate is "The quick brown fox jumps
over the lazy dog". (For a while, I was misremembering it as "The quick
brown fox jumped over the lazy dog", but that's clearly wrong because
there's no 's' in it.)
Other examples of things I've used for translation (both for vocabulary and
grammar) include "I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee", "The cow
jumped over the moon", and "Everybody wants a rock to wind a piece of
string around".
