The word is coined according to Farsi pattern "ketâbxâne" (house of books) meaning 'library'. So "ketaberiya" is 'library'. 'Book shop' in Ajami would be "màxzàno de ketabos".

Farsi dictionary enlists two possible forms: regular "ketâbhâ" and Arabic "kotub". -- Yitzik
