Hmm... I wonder if the increased inventory of strange sounds has anything
to do with conlanging... ;-) I've been trying to pronounce every single
word and word form in my conlang, as I hate creating a conlang even I
myself can't pronounce... and I'm finding out (much to my joy / wonder /
amazement / astonishment / horror) what those linguistic choices I made
*actually* mean in terms of pronunciation. The nouns in my conlang are
inflected using something I call "contouring" -- there's both vowel and
consonant contouring, and when I designed the system, I only had a vague
idea of what it sounds like. It's when I started pronouncing those words
that it suddenly seems to take on a life of its own... :-P
