I find it strange that cursive is what you're taught first. :-) Print is easier to produce, I think, plus it's much more similar to what is actually printed in books, so it seems to me that when you learn to recognize the letters, you would also learn to produce them, and the most logical system would be to learn to produce them the same way you read them. Do kids in France learn "when you read 'A' it looks like this, but when you write it, it should look like this"? -- "There's no such thing as 'cool'.
