* Incidentially, this festival's called "München Hoben". After consulting
some mystified German exchange students, we THINK this is meant to mean
"Munich, We Drank". Any Germanophone on the list with an opinion on the
matter?

"München Hoben" ... doesn't make much sense, but you're actually right.
"hoben" means "lifted" ("einen heben" -> "to lift a beer" -> "to drink").
I have to add that "München Hoben" isn't actually a full sentence ... I
suppose there's another reason why it's got this name ... but funny anyway
