Perhaps. I was thinking mostly of Appalachia.

A special place in my heart for Creationists
there is!

Absolutely not; though he ìs German, and must be
acutely aware that a modern country can have its
share of assbackwardness. Just of needless
snobbery. I see Kemr as no different - it is
modern, but is also a country of humans ("Elves"
not withstanding), imperfect humans that have
devised an imperfect country. His description of
Kemr struck me as, well, snobbish. It's not how I
was led to think of it (and there was plenty of
time for thát to change both before and after he
came around); and it seems that my understanding
of it was less than good enough for Mr Rhiemeier.

I never liked umlauts. Even when they're
appropriate in English (coöperate, etc.). Plus, I
always have to look up the codes, whereas I have
the ups, downs and chapeaux memorised.

Not a graveyard. Just the part tucked away from
the public tours...
Though I guess you interpreted the pit as a
grave. I mean a pit where someone unaccountably
dug something up and took it away in the dead of
night. Perhaps there ought to be police tape
around it? Not too romantic, that...
