Impossible! There's no OS which is sold or given without a program which can
read and write RTF. But somebody already answered this question.

The problem is that plain text is *less* universal than RTF! The problem lies
in carriage returns, which are handled differently with DOS, MAC or Unix.
Fortunately, I have a little program that does the conversion between the
different formats :)) .
