Come to think of it, the word "Stati" is also moderately common (in my
limited experience) in Germany for the plural of "Status" - presumably
on the basis that "status" looks like a second-declension masculine
Latin noun.
(The fact that the plural of "Status" should probably be "Status" in
German, and that this is not particularly helpful to keeping sg. and
pl. apart, may also have contributed.)
